Jack’s Journey 2020

Jack’s Journey 2020 proved to be a huge success with 9 participants cycling over 300 miles in 3 days to fundraise for Hidden Warriors CIC, Care after Combat and Children’s Cancer & Leukaemia Group.

During the 3-day event the team visited three Navy War Memorials and one Naval Cemetery; a Poppy Wreath was laid at each venue to remember the fallen. This event was a first for Hidden Warriors CIC and with the complexities of Covid thrown in there were some challenges to overcome to ensure we all stayed safe.

A few stats from Jack’s Journey:

Over 10,000 metres of hill climbing during Day 01, Plymouth to Portland.
318 Total number of miles cycled in 3 days for each participant.
5 Serving members of the Royal Navy, 4 Veterans and one Civilian took part.

A special thank you must go to Tailored Branding for branding the Hoodies and Cycle Jerseys that were supplied by Cotton Ridge and Result Clothing. Also, the use of the Tailored Branding Company Van that was the support vehicle during the event. The use of the van allowed us to keep costs of running this event to a minimum and ensure the safety and replenishment of the team.

It is with immense pride that Hidden Warriors CIC announces a total of £1850 was raised and will be split between the beneficiaries mentioned above. During this difficult and uncertain time this is a brilliant amount raised that will continue to help and make a positive difference to people’s lives.

Jack’s Journey 2020’s success is awarded to everyone that supported us, but the following people should be recognised:

Lee Cox – Route Planner and participant
Hattie Jacques – Support driver and morale
Clare Brewer – Participant and pasty supplier
Keith Tatham – Participant
