This year is the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. A host of events will be taking place across the UK and France to commerorate the heroic actions of Allied Forces during the Second World War. At Hidden Warriors CIC we have decided to use our annual cycling fundraiser to also pay respects during the week of the 80th anniversary with our Ride for Remembrance.
Beginning on the 3rd June we will set off from the D-Day Embarkation Memorial in Plymouth and over 3 days cycle nearly 300 miles to our final destination of The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. At the end of Day 01 we will stop at Taunton and lay a wreath at the Normandy Veterans Memorial. On our second nights stop in Gloucester another wreath will be laid at the War Memorial that lists those that lost their lives during the Second World War.
This event has been kindly sponsored by Portal Security with special thanks to Adrian Moore for arranging. Adrian will hopefully accompany us on the cycle as he did during last years Ride to the Gate.
This years participants are Hidden Warriors representatives Howard Dunn and our route planner extroadianire Lee Cox, Gavin will also be cycling along with newcomer Reise Smith. Our support driver will once again be Hidden Warriors Director Steven Bolton.
We cannot wait to get started and will again bring you content of the event via our social media platforms. This years beneficiaries for the fundraising will be Hidden Warriors CIC and The Alzheimers Society.
