Hidden Warriors & Covid-19

There has been so much good work going on throughout the Communities to support one another during what is an unprecedented time with the Covid-19 Pandemic. At Hidden Warriors CIC we wanted to do what we could to help those that were in need. It was important to us that we changed our main focus for Hidden Warriors CIC so we could contribute towards what many others were doing to help. During the first few weeks we made good will donations to two local food banks in Stafford and Plymouth but also provided over 30 fun filled Activity Bags for children that were in self isolation with their family.

Once the stay at home measures were introduced by the UK Government we still wanted to support the Community in some way but there were difficulties to overcome in terms of keeping our volunteers and families safe from the virus. After engaging with recently set up Covid-19 support groups and the idea from our Director Hayley regarding Activity Bags we understood there was a need for these morale boosts for young children in the Community. With the support of the Activity Bags idea from Councillors Ann Edgeller and Carolyn Trowbridge (Stafford County Council) Hidden Warriors CIC were provided funding to produce 50 Activity Bags for children aged 3 – 11. Once the Activity Bags were produced they were delivered to Silkmore Primary School and Rising Brook Baptist Church to be distributed to the children. The bags contained colouring books, stickers, activity sheets, pens, pencils, paints as well as other fun items and confectionary that was kindly donated for the Activity Bags by House of Bread Stafford.

At the time of writing this there is still a long way to go until some form of normality resumes for everyone in the UK and whilst this is not welcome we at Hidden Warriors CIC will continue to support those in need where possible. To all the NHS staff, Care and Key workers thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for us all. You are all Hidden Warriors but no longer Hidden. Thank You.
