The return of the Mental Health Kettlebell Challenge will take place from Monday 7th until Thursday 10th March 2022. This year the 16kg kettlebell will be carried by Hidden Warriors CIC Founder Gavin, he will also be accompanied by good friend and supporter of Hidden Warriors CIC, Steve Bolton. Steve will carry his own kettlebell that weighs 12kg.
This fundraiser will take place over 4 days and both kettlebells will be carried for a distance of 80 miles, the route taken for this will be the North Loop of the Tarka Trail in North Devon. Along with the kettlebells, both participants will be carrying their own personal kit including food/drink. They will be camping out overnight at the end of each day.
This fundraiser is different to the many that take place, it will be a physical and mental challenge that will also highlight the need for people to Talk about Mental Health. The reason for carrying the kettlebell is to signify the weight someone may feel if they are encountering their own Mental Health challenges.
All funds raised from this challenge will directly support the Hidden Warriors CIC sports/activities initiative, this initiative enrols children into sports/activities clubs to better their own mental wellbeing. Also, we are pleased to announce for the second consecutive year we will donate 50% of the funds raised from this event to the Childrens Mental Health Charity, Place2Be.
