Hidden Warriors CIC Community Support within Staffordshire continues. We have been supporting those within the community affected by the cost of living. With secured grants from Tesco, Asda, Co-op and Local Councillors Community fund we have been running a Food and Clothes Bank since the beginning of 2023.
Located at St Peters Church, Stafford we have a brilliant group of volunteers that make this project possible. At the time of writing this update we have given out over 1000 items of food and many items of clothing that has been donated by our supporters. Our Founder and Director Gavin Tuach said, “It was never our intention to ever open a food bank as I do not believe in our society that they should be required. However, times are hard for many people and families at the moment and this Food bank can be a life line for many and we do care”.
Fortunately local businesses and the council have helped to support this project but we are aware that without further support it is unlikely the Food bank can continue into 2024 unless further funds are secured or continued support from the Community. To help us continue to stock the right food items and toiletries we have created a list on Amazon that our supporters can visit and purchase items that will then be delivered to the Food bank and into the hands of those in the Community that need it most. The link for this is at the bottom of this update. If you can support it really does help and thank you. With well over 100 people supported so far, we have had families, individuals, veterans and Ukrainian refugees visit us for support. Without us and the amazing work of our volunteers and supporters their challenges during this difficult time may have been greater. Thank you for reading.
